If your MIDI track is set in 'IN' in the I/O settings, then you will be receiving the input from your external keyboard only and not from the notes your recorded on the track. In the past when i've purchsed upgrades of Ableton, i have always been able to use it on at least one other computer.When performing, it is important i can have both apps running for easy switch over if one set up has problems.
