- Tech News: Blizzard’s Warcraft 3‘s latest 1.27a patch arrived as Blizzard promised. The patch came via Battle.net four years after the previous Warcraft 3 patch. The update improved compatibility with Windows both for the Frozen Throne and Reign of Chaos. The biggest change comes with compatibility fixes for the Mac OSes.

- Depends some Custom Campaigns only work with x version and up, Curse of the Forsaken wont run correctly or crash on 1.27b, however you can run two copies of wc 3, as the PTR installs into warcraft III PTR. battle.net autopatched my wc3 this morning which was expected.
Now after the update was 'succesful' WC3 shows the No-CD Error and I cannot get into the game.
I wonder whether some of you have the same problem or not.
When I 'downgrade' to 1.26a I can start the game completely fine - then clicking on Battle.net for update, again succesful patching and getting into the same error. I am playing on a netbook so I don't have the possibility to insert the cd.
Reinstalling made no difference. I don't get it.Any help is appreciated.

If you haven’t heard, there is mass excitement in the air as there will be a new Warcraft 3 patch on March 15, 2016. This is four years since the last update and soon Blizzard will launch Warcraft 3 patch 1.27 for everyone to enjoy.
The exciting thing to note about this update, is that Blizzard has decided not to reveal anything whatsoever on what is new in Warcraft 3’s 1.27 update.
This is somewhat unusual as many would have expected at least a small preview, but Blizzard is saying nothing to build up anticipation – and it’s clearly working.
We have a video for you to watch below, from Blizzard’s Robert Bridenbecker who confirms that the game is receiving its first update in four years – amazing stuff for a game that launched over a decade ago in 2002.
Although we can’t say for sure, we have a feeling that the Warcraft 3 1.27 patch notes list will include plenty of performance tweaks to keep Warcraft 3 relevant on newer systems, but we would also love to see some new functionality in terms of gameplay too.
