This dark green 1950 Ford F-6 semi tractor is a very straight, solid and complete western desert truck ready to be restored or customized. The body has very straight and rust-free sheet metal. There are some small dents in the hood, above the left windshield and in the right rear cab corner. The rest of the body is very straight and dent-free. The windshield is broken. The chassis and suspension are all straight, solid and un-modified. The truck has a shop-mounted fifth wheel hitch. The left outer dual wheel is gone. The truck has add-on mirrors and the right mirrors are gone and there are mounting holes in the door. The interior is all thee except the radio is missing. Some of the dash switches have been replaced with non-stock switches. There is add-on column-mounted turn signals. The floor is solid. The later Y-block 239 CID OHV V-8 is missing the valve covers, intake manifold, carburetor and air cleaner. The four speed manual floor shift transmission and drive train are all there. While Chevrolet's C-8 bodies were made by W.D. Beath, a Toronto company, Ford of Canada made their own. Both Chevrolet's C-8 and Ford's F-8 utilized many standard civilian-vehicle parts, making it relatively easy to locate replacement parts. Production began around May 1940 and ended near the close of 1941 with a total of 9,837 units built.
